Basic Social Networking Guides for Novices
But of all the dozens of sites for social networking on the internet, many people still have no idea how social sites can benefit them. It may still be confusing which social network they would choose to get into. If you’re new to the social networking world, then these basic guides are for you. After all, joining these sites is supposed to be fun and exciting.
The first step on how to get started in social networks is to determine what you would want from a social network. There are many social networking websites that cater to specific interests like sports, music or movies. Others generally accommodate the general public. Once you’ve identified what you want, choose the right social network that’s right for you. You can make a list of sites that may seem interesting to you and try them out. In any case, there’s no limit to the number of social sites that you can join.
Some examples of great social networking sites that target the general audience include Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Twitter and Digg. If you’re looking for social networks that can boost up your business, a business-oriented social network like LinkedIn would be a good site for you to get contacts. If you’re passionate about music, you can try LastFM, which allows you to create your own playlist or suggest a music genre that you prefer. If you like movies, then Flxister might be the kind of social site that you can get into. By joining a niche social network that matches your interest, you would be more likely to get involved in the community. If you are somehow having a hard time looking for a social network with your particular niche, there are social networks that have user-created groups you can connect with.
Once you’ve signed up for the site that you’re interested in, the next step is to build and customize your profile. If you are still trying to get the feel of the site, you can use the basic templates available to perk up your page. You can experiment and try out different colors or lay-outs. Don’t be afraid to explore the different features of the social networking sites. In the long run, you’ll be able to learn how to add videos, music or reviews.
After you’ve spiced up your profile page, you can now start to go and meet people. One way to start adding people to your site is by trying to look up family members or friends in the search features. You can also browse other people’s profiles in you local area. Many social networking sites allow you to look up people according to categories like a high school or colleges that they attended. Of course, one good way to find friends is to surf through specific groups and join those that match your interest. This way, you can also get to share ideas with other people and connect with more people later on.
Blogging is also another great feature offered by sites for social networking. You can always write what you have in mind and use it as an online journal. However, don’t get too carried away by sharing personal and confidential information. But then again, you can share your ideas or even publish a post that can be beneficial to other people.
The key to joining social networks is to be involved in what they offer. As you spend time browsing and discovering these sites, you’ll find out that there’s so much in store for you in these sites. So go ahead and join and start enjoying.

Starting a Home Business the Right Way
Starting a home business can be a mix of excitement and expectation. But before you plunge into the world of internet business or MLM Business and reach for the stars, you need to be focused on how to get ready and plan to start your own business. The following are some practical ideas that can help you prepare as you start that business:
• Chose an Industry. While you may have heard that it is important to choose a product or service that you are knowledgeable or passionate about, you also have to see if it has a good revenue potential. Assess whether the things you are interested in can actually enable you to generate income online. If your goal is, for example, to help others while making money, then you can look for potential products and services within that specific area that you can offer on a website. You can make a list of things that you are interested in such as books, music, hobbies and even television shows. The reason for doing this is simple. Your chances of success in your MLM Business are much greater if you find something that interests and excites you.
• How to pick a product or service wisely. Once you’ve settled on your area of choice, you can begin creating a list of possible products or services that you can promote within industry. This is an important aspect when starting an internet home business. Product items are much easier to promote, although you have to ensure that you have sufficient start-up capital if you have to buy inventory. More often, promoting these products as an affiliate would require some operating costs if you have a minimum purchase as a reseller. You can also opt for drop-shipping which may mean a little less profit but much less cash out of pocket. Make sure you can sell the product competitively and still make a profit. If you decide on a service type MLM or internet home business, identify what you like and don’t like in your business. If you don’t have the skill for customer service, then opt for affiliate marketing. There will be different options for every product and service.
• How to sell the product or service. You have to decide whether you will be selling from your own website or sites such as eBay or Amazon. Knowing what you are going to use to sell your product will help you strategize. If the pricing of a certain product or service is competitive, you can use online marketplaces since there is already traffic available in these sites. On the other hand, if it is not viable for these sites, you can use your own website.
• How to promote your products or services. Another factor you need to consider as you start an internet home business or an MLM Business is how you’re going to promote the product or service. If you are going to use search engine optimization, you have to know what keywords would best work for your site and how much control you have over your site. You also need to decide if you are going to build your site from scratch or go for a site builder. Another useful alternative to get traffic to your site is by using pay-per-click. Although this system does cost a bit, it remains to be the most immediate way to test a market and get traffic. Other good options to start traffic to your site are blogs, podcasts, videos, and social networks.
An online home business is an excellent way to earn a good income. But don’t start your business without the facts. Having good practical ideas and a plan on how to start your business can help you focus and get you on the road to internet home business success later on.

Home Ofice Tax Deductions
Over the last several years the home office deduction has been one of the most contentious issues involving small businesses and the IRS. Many small business associations have lobbied Congress to change the very restrictive rules that currently apply to home office deductions. Well, the good news is that help is on the way.
The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 contains provisions that will greatly expand the number of persons who will be eligible to take tax deductions for home office expenses. These rules went into effect in 1999.
Existing law determines the deductibility of home office expenses as follows:
1. USE. In order to qualify for a home office deduction under existing law, an office in the home must meet one of the following criteria:
· It must be used as the principal place of business for the business involved; or,
· It must be used as a place to meet with patients, clients, or customers.
Most of the disagreements regarding home office deductions involve determining where your principal place of business is located.
2. TWO-FACTOR TEST. A two-factor test is used to determine the location of your principal place of business, in situations where you have more than one business location. The two factors are:
· the relative importance of activities conducted at each location
· the amount of time spent at each location
·
Relative importance of activities is determined by the nature of the business. The amount of time spent at each location is determined by simply comparing the time spent on business at the home office with the time spent on business at other places.
In summary, if the most important activities of your business are conducted at your home office then you can qualify to take a tax deduction for your home office expenses.
As always, consult with your own tax professional for more specific questions but know that much of what you do might be a deduction!

No More Employees
From my experience as an owner of a manufacturing company for fifteen plus years, I believe I can show you some of the advantages of operating a home based business and keeping it simple. One really big advantage is that you don’t have to hire and manage any employees.
Good employees are great and very necessary when you are building a conventional business and want to grow, but the process of hiring and maintaining a number of people can be not only time consuming but very nerve racking. You need to constantly hire, supervise, encourage, and discipline your staff. The time involved in this can keep your doing many of the other duties that are necessary to bring money in the door such as sales and marketing. How great it is to find a home based business that has a set program where you can join, get great help and guidance and not have to hire employees.

Seven Steps To wealth
1. Develop a written financial plan Saying you want to be wealthy isn't good enough. You need to come up with a workable plan and put it on paper. The written plan forces you to do something. Calculate what you need to earn and how to invest. The plan isn't just the goal, it's the whole thing -- the dream, the goals, the options. The options are scenario planning -- all the ways you can accomplish that goal -- open a Roth IRA, contribute to a 401(k).
2. Save, save, save The end result of your financial plan should be systematic investment. Get in the habit of saving money. Build an emergency fund in a money market account so you don't have to raid the rest of your savings and investments when there's an unexpected major expense. Make it a point to save at least half of every pay raise.
3. Live below your means Don't be a walking billboard for overpriced designer clothes, shoes, sunglasses or jewelry. Don't allow your house or car payments to be budget-busters.
4. Lay off the credit Some people say that if you can eat it or wear it, don't put it on your credit card. That's good advice, but take it further. Try not putting anything on your cards that you can't pay off in two or three months. You need only one or two credit cards. If you have a fistful, pay them off and cancel them. Remember, debt holds you back. It reduces cash flow for other things, including investing. If no one gave you money to borrow, you'd be better off and the economy would be smaller. If they only let you borrow 75 percent of the value of your home, you'd be a heck of a lot better off.
5. Make your money work for you It takes money to make money, but that doesn't mean you need a lot to invest. Open an account with a mutual fund company that has no-load funds and low expense ratios. Build a diverse portfolio and you can reasonably expect to earn 8 percent to 10 percent annually on your investments over the long haul.
6. Get professional advice A good financial planner can help you fill your portfolio with the right investments and dump the wrong ones. You don't need to relinquish control, but you do need to form a good working relationship with someone who has expertise in this complicated area. About 76 percent of those surveyed are actively involved in the day-to-day management of their financial affairs. They get involved; they learn about finances, they're not day traders. They work with advisers but ultimately make their own decisions. If you can't afford to have a financial planner manage your money, many of them will review your portfolio and make recommendations for a one-time fee.
7. Start your own business In the book The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America's Wealthy, the authors state that two-thirds of the millionaires are self-employed, with 75 percent of them entrepreneurs, and the remainder professionals such as doctors and accountants. The idea that most people inherit wealth is outdated. A lot is built through businesses. Business creation is the Number One driver of wealth in this country. If you chose to start your own business and want to do it without a substantial investment, a home based business especially in the Network Marketing industry can be an excellent possibility. Whatever business you chose, make sure you plan properly, set your goals and follow through.
So there you have the seven steps to wealth.

Part Time Work From Home
Trying to make ends meet? Are you looking for part time work in Winston-Salem NC? For part time jobs in Gulfport Mississippi? Have you always wondered what it would be like to work from home? Perhaps you should be looking for a part time home business for sale.
The Grind… The average American works 40-50 hours a week and that doesn’t include their daily commute. A typical day for many begins on or before 6am. Getting kids off to school. Jumping in the car to wait in traffic. Skipping meals. Sitting an another long commute back home. A short evening, in bed and up to do it all over again.
The Bleech… Then there’s the housework, laundry, grocery shopping, making dinner and help the kids with their homework before putting them to bed, only to start the entire process again the next day.
How to fit in the part time work & will it really help… With the price of gas and the length of commutes, your part time job must be strategically located or it’s not worth the time.
The working from home trend… In the past few years, both employers and employees have been looking for a solution and a better way to balance work and home life. Recently, working from home has become a popular option.
Is it for you? No commute means more time. Flexible time. Being motivated is important. The advantages of working from home are high, but it’ll never work if you can’t motivate your self to work. Consider this scenario; now I get up in the morning, spend time with my children while getting them off to school, then can leisurely read the morning paper while enjoying a cup of coffee. Then I go to my office, turn on my computer and begin working.
There are a lot of home businesses for sale, research them and try to identify a scenario where you are not completely alone. Having a virtual team or associates can keep you focused. Having a clear vision of the process and your role in the business model is critical. Support to help you obtain your first home business earnings is another key to success.
